U.S. school data API
School information for international students, starting with boarding schools, as JSON and as an MCP server for AI assistants. Every fact carries its source and the date it was checked.
Developer docs → /api/v1 OpenAPI
Live counts from our database. No boarding school has been verified yet: every one is still a candidate.

Questions
Is the JOBnaru™ API free?
Yes. No key or sign-up is needed. Each IP address can make 40 requests per hour and 300 per day. Use is free for personal, research, education, news and other non-commercial purposes, and for AI assistants that answer with a link. Every use requires attribution: show “JOBnaru™” with a link to the page the data came from.
Where do the data come from?
The school directory comes from the Private School Universe Survey (PSS) of the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics. F-1 certification comes from the SEVP certified school list published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Study in the States). Every tag and fact in a response names its source, source URL and the date it was last checked.
What does “candidate” mean?
A candidate school was classified from public data (for example, as a boarding school) but JOBnaru™ has not yet checked it with the school. Verified schools have been checked. Confirm details with the school before relying on them.
Can I use the data in a commercial product?
Not without a separate written commercial license. Using the data in or for a business — a paid or ad-supported product, a service for clients, a school directory or comparison site, a dataset or an AI product — or redistributing it in bulk is a separate process: send us a message with the topic “Commercial data license” and we review the use. Quoting a school page with a link in an article or an AI answer is free.
What happens when I reach the limit?
The API answers with HTTP 429 and tells you the limit and when it resets. Hourly limits reset at the top of each hour and daily limits at 00:00 UTC. For higher non-commercial limits, get a free Developer key. Bulk files are for commercial licensees only.
