Terms of Service
Part 1 — Terms for everyone
1. Who we are and these terms
JOBnaru™ (jobnaru.com, including its API and MCP service) is operated by an individual (sole proprietor) in the State of Texas, United States, under the brand JOBnaru™ (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using the site, posting a job or creating an account you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use JOBnaru™.
Part 1 applies to everyone. Part 2 adds terms for developers, advertisers and other account roles. When you add a role, you also accept the terms for that role.
2. What JOBnaru™ does — and does not do
JOBnaru™ is a job board for the Korean-American community in the United States. Employers post jobs; we also show jobs from companies’ own public job boards and career sites; job seekers search and save jobs, receive job alert emails and use Ask JOBnaru™ to find information on the site.
We are not an employment agency, a staffing agency, a recruiter, an employer or an immigration adviser. We do not refer, screen, recommend or place candidates, and we take no part in hiring decisions. We do not guarantee that any job is available, that you will get an interview or a job, or that an employer will sponsor or obtain a visa or other work authorization for you.
We do not collect resumes or job applications. You apply on the employer’s own website or by the email address or phone number the employer gives. What you send to an employer, and any agreement you make with it, is between you and that employer; we are not a party to it.
Job seekers never pay JOBnaru™. Employers and other businesses pay only for optional, clearly labeled placements and advertising (section 10).
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use JOBnaru™ and to create an account. Where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing, you must meet it (for example, 14 if you sign up from Korea). If you are under 18, apply only for jobs that the law allows for your age.
- You sign in with Google or with a single-use sign-in link that we email you. Keep your email account secure, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- Give accurate information. One account is for one person. You may act for a business only if you are authorized to do so.
- You can delete your account at any time under “Privacy & data” in your account.
4. For job seekers
- Searching, saving jobs, job alerts and Ask JOBnaru™ are free. We never ask job seekers for money.
- Check every employer and job yourself before you share personal information or accept an offer. A listing on JOBnaru™ is not a background check, a verification of the employer or a recommendation.
- A real employer will not ask you to pay a fee, buy equipment or training, cash a check and send money back, or give your Social Security number or bank details before an interview or a written offer. If an employer asks for any of these, stop and report the job to us (section 11).
- Pay, benefits, visa sponsorship, Korean-language requirements and other details come from the employer or the original posting. Confirm them with the employer before you rely on them.
5. Job alerts and other emails
- Job alerts: if you save a job alert, we email you new jobs that match it, at most once a day. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can delete an alert at any time in your account.
- Account emails: we send sign-in links, notices about your account, your postings and payments, receipts, and notices about changes to these terms. These are part of the service and are sent even if you have no alerts.
- Introduction emails to businesses: we may send a short introduction, and occasionally a follow-up, to the business contact address that a company publishes on its own website, to tell it about JOBnaru™. Each such email says why it was sent, includes our contact details and a working unsubscribe link, and is limited in number. If you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, we do not write again.
- Our commercial emails identify us, include our contact details and honor unsubscribe requests promptly, as the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act requires. We do not sell or rent email addresses.
6. Ask JOBnaru™
Ask JOBnaru™ answers questions from the jobs, companies and guides on our own site. It does not send your question to an outside AI service. Answers are produced automatically and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, so check the job or page an answer links to. Answers are general information, not legal, immigration, tax or employment advice.
Do not type sensitive personal information — for example your Social Security number, details of an immigration case or health information — into Ask JOBnaru™ or the search box.
7. Jobs from companies’ own job boards
Some listings are read from companies’ own public job boards (for example through the public Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby job-board APIs) or from their public career pages where the site’s robots.txt allows it. These listings show their source and link to the original posting, where you apply.
We show these jobs as the company published them, adding formatting and automatic classification (for example category, location, and mentions of visas or the Korean language). We do not verify them, and the original posting controls. A listing is removed when it disappears from its source or when it has not been seen there for some time, but the job may be filled or closed before that.
A collected listing does not mean that the company has joined, endorsed or paid JOBnaru™. If you represent a company and want its jobs corrected or removed, or want us to stop reading its job board, contact us and we will do so promptly.
8. Posting jobs: employer responsibilities
If you post a job or otherwise act for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it, and these terms bind the business as well as you. Each posting must be for a real, currently open position with the employer named in it; a staffing firm must say that it is recruiting for a client and be authorized to do so. You are responsible for your postings and for following every law that applies to them, including these rules:
- No discrimination: do not state or imply a preference or limitation based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law — including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the EEOC’s rules on job advertisements.
- Citizenship and work authorization: you may say that applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, and whether you sponsor visas. Do not limit a job to U.S. citizens or to particular nationalities unless a law, regulation or government contract requires it, as the anti-discrimination rules of the Immigration and Nationality Act (including those added by IRCA) provide.
- Language requirements: a requirement such as “Korean required” or “bilingual Korean–English” must be genuinely needed for the job. Do not use it in place of national origin — do not ask for “native Koreans”, “Korean nationals” or people of a particular ethnicity.
- Pay transparency: where a state or city requires a pay range in job postings (for example California, Colorado, Washington, New York and Illinois), include a good-faith range and any other information it requires. We may show a notice on postings that seem to be missing a required range, but deciding whether a law applies to you is your responsibility.
- Wage and child-labor laws: the pay you offer must meet minimum-wage and overtime rules, and jobs open to minors must follow child-labor laws.
- No fees to applicants: never charge applicants to apply, interview, train or be hired, and do not require them to buy uniforms, equipment, kits or anything else.
- No requests for sensitive data: do not ask, in a posting or before a written offer, for Social Security numbers, bank or credit-card details, passport or immigration documents, or copies of ID. Collect such information only after hiring, as the law allows, through secure channels.
- No scams or disguised offers: no multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, commission-only or “be your own boss” business opportunities presented as jobs, work-from-home schemes that require payment, reshipping or money-transfer “jobs”, or postings that collect personal data for other purposes. If pay is commission-based, say so clearly.
- Accurate content: give the true employer name, location, job type, pay and requirements. Do not post duplicates, positions that are already filled, misleading titles, or contact details and links unrelated to the job.
- Applicant information: use what applicants send you only to consider them for the job, keep it secure, and follow the privacy and background-check laws that apply to you (for example the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state and local fair-chance hiring laws).
- Do not state or imply that JOBnaru™ endorses, has verified or sponsors you or your job.
9. Review, editing and removal of postings
A standard job posting is free and stays live for 30 days unless you close it earlier. A few days before it ends, we email you a link to keep it live for another 30 days at no charge; you can use it any number of times without signing in, or renew from My jobs. If you do not renew, the posting closes automatically. Every new or edited posting goes through an automated check. Postings that pass go live at once. Postings the check flags — for example for asking applicants for money, fees, deposits or check, gift-card or cryptocurrency transfers, asking for Social Security numbers or bank details, commission-only or multi-level marketing offers, adult or nightlife work, discriminatory wording or shortened links — are held until our team reviews them, usually within one business day. Automated checks can miss problems, and we may remove any posting that breaks these terms or is reported, at any time.
We may edit a posting for format, length, category, location or translation, or remove contact details, links or content that break these terms, without changing its meaning. We may refuse, pause, hide or remove any posting or company page, and suspend an employer account, at our discretion — for example for a suspected scam, discrimination, missing information or reports from users. If we remove a paid placement that complied with these terms, we refund the unused period.
We do not check every posting before it appears, and postings remain the employer’s content. To the extent the law allows, including Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, we are not the publisher or speaker of content provided by employers, advertisers or other users, and our review or editing of some content does not make us responsible for it.
10. Paid placements, advertising, payments and refunds
- Placements: employers can pay to make a job more visible — Premium Plus (top of job lists and the home page), Power Link (pinned right below Premium in its category and state lists) and Photo listing (a logo or photo and a bold title in the list). The standard prices are US $500 for Premium Plus, US $450 for Power Link and US $99 for a Photo listing, each per 30 days. Current prices are shown on the employers page and at checkout; if they differ, the price shown at checkout applies. For employers
- Payment: prices are in U.S. dollars, paid once in advance by card through Stripe for the whole period. We never see or store your card number. Nothing renews automatically. A placement runs from its start date for the period booked, even if you edit or close the job earlier.
- Refunds: you get a full refund if you cancel before a placement starts. After it starts, there is no refund for the remaining time unless we fail to deliver it as booked — then we refund the part we did not deliver, or the full amount if it never ran. A duplicate payment is refunded in full.
- Labeling: paid placements are always labeled (for example “Premium” or “Sponsored”) so that they can be told apart from other listings, consistent with the FTC’s rules on advertising and endorsements. Payment never buys a “verified” label and is never hidden.
- No guaranteed results: we do not promise any number of views, clicks, applicants or hires.
- Taxes and payment disputes: you are responsible for your own taxes. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, please contact us first; we may pause a placement or ad while a dispute is open.
Banner and sponsored advertising
- Businesses that serve the Korean-American community can also buy banner and sponsored placements on our pages, for business purposes only. These follow the booking terms shown in My ads and at checkout: the price is in U.S. dollars and paid once in advance, nothing renews automatically, you get a full refund if you cancel before the start date and none after the ad starts, and a full refund if we cannot show the ad as booked.
- Every ad area is marked “Ads” and every paid card “Sponsored”, and links to advertisers are marked rel=“sponsored”. Advertising never changes the content of job postings or what our API returns.
- Advertisers are responsible for their ads: truthful, lawful claims (including the FTC’s rules on advertising and endorsements and the professional rules that apply to attorneys, lenders, insurers and other licensed businesses), the right to use every name, logo and image, and no promises of jobs, visas or green cards. We review each ad and may refuse, edit for format, pause or remove it; if we remove an ad that complied with these terms, we refund the unused period.
- Never allowed in an ad or a posting: gambling, adult content, payday or predatory loans, illegal products or services, guaranteed immigration outcomes, or anything aimed at minors.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, format, resize and translate your ad content while it runs, and to keep it for our records.
- Limit: our total liability for a paid placement or an ad is limited to the amount you paid for it, and if we do not deliver it as booked, your sole remedy is a refund for the part not delivered.
11. Reporting a job or a problem
If a job looks fake, discriminatory or misleading, asks for money or sensitive information, or if content infringes your rights, use “Report this job” on the job page or the contact form. Tell us the page address and what is wrong; for a rights claim, also tell us how we can confirm that you own or represent the right.
We review reports, usually within one business day, and may hide a posting while we check it. We may tell the employer that its posting was reported, without naming you unless you agree. We end the accounts of repeat offenders and repeat infringers where appropriate, and may ignore reports made in bad faith. If you lost money or personal information to a job scam, also report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or to your local police.
12. Acceptable use
- Do not break the law, harass anyone, pretend to be someone else, post false or misleading information, upload malware, try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or overload the site.
- Do not scrape or copy the site or its job listings in bulk, use bots or other automation beyond what our API terms allow, probe or test our security, or get around limits, blocks or our review.
- Do not use JOBnaru™ to harvest the contact details of job seekers or employers, to send spam or unsolicited messages, or to recruit for a job other than the one posted.
- Do not use JOBnaru™ if the law bars you from doing so, including U.S. sanctions rules.
13. Your content and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of what you submit — job postings, company descriptions, logos, photos, ad content and messages. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, display and distribute it on JOBnaru™, in job alert emails, through our API and feeds, and to search engines and job-search services that read our pages (for example as structured job data), for as long as it is published, and afterwards for our records and backups.
You confirm that you have the rights to everything you submit, including logos and photos, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights. When a posting expires or is removed, we stop showing it, but copies may remain for a short time in our backups and in caches of services we do not control.
14. Using our content and data
You may quote and share our pages for personal, research, educational, news and other non-commercial purposes, as long as you name “JOBnaru™” and link to the page you used. Copying the site or its compiled data in bulk, or using it in a commercial product or service, requires our written permission or our API terms. API terms
Our JSON API (/api/v1) and MCP server (/mcp) are covered by the API terms in addition to these terms. They contain no personal data of job seekers, and you must not try to use them to identify anyone.
Job postings belong to the employers that wrote them, and collected listings to the companies that published them. JOBnaru™, its logo and the design and compilation of the site belong to us. Company names, logos and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them; this does not mean that they are affiliated with or endorse us. Logos are taken unaltered from the company’s own website and shown only next to that company’s name, jobs and company page. A company can ask us to remove or replace its logo or name at any time through the contact form (“Company logo or trademark”), and we act on it promptly.
15. Other websites and services
Employers’ websites and application pages, Google Sign-In, Stripe and other services we link to are run by others under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, security or practices, including what happens to information you give an employer when you apply.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any job is real, open, lawful or accurately described, that any employer is legitimate, licensed or safe, or that you will be hired, paid as described or sponsored for a visa.
Nothing on JOBnaru™ is legal, immigration, tax, financial or employment advice. Employers and job seekers are independent from us. Any dispute between you and an employer, a job seeker, an advertiser or another user is between you and them, and to the extent the law allows, you release us from claims arising from it.
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may suspend or change features for maintenance, security or legal reasons. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of internet, cloud, payment or email providers, attacks, natural disasters or government action.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost profits, wages or opportunities, or for losses arising from hiring decisions, the acts of employers, job seekers or advertisers, or inaccurate postings or third-party data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
To the extent the law allows, any claim you have against us relating to the service must be brought within two years after it arose, or it is barred.
18. Indemnity
If you use JOBnaru™ for a business — including posting jobs or advertising — you agree to defend and compensate us for reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, arising from your postings or ads, your hiring practices, or your breach of these terms or of the law. For consumers, this applies only to the extent the law where you live allows.
19. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts, roles or postings that break these terms or put other users at risk, normally after telling you why, unless the law or safety requires otherwise. You can stop using JOBnaru™ and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 10, 13, 14 and 16–20) survive termination.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Texas. Before you start a claim against us, send us a written notice describing it and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. If the law where you live gives you consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract, nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
21. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change the service or these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is material, we will tell account holders by email or on the site before it takes effect and ask them to agree again the next time they use their account; if you do not agree, you can delete your account. Changes do not apply to disputes that arose before them.
Notices: we may give you notice by email, in your account or on the site. Send notices to us through the contact page or the contact email shown there.
22. General
These terms, the Privacy Policy and any terms shown for specific features (such as the API terms) are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not waived it. We may assign or transfer these terms, and your account, to any successor or acquirer of JOBnaru™ or of all or part of its business or assets, including in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale, without your consent; the Privacy Policy describes what happens to personal data. You may not transfer these terms without our consent.
JOBnaru™ and these terms are offered in English and Korean. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version controls.
Part 2 — Terms for each role
Some accounts have a role that adds features. The terms for a role apply in addition to Part 1 while you hold it. When you add a role, we record your agreement with the version of that role’s terms; if we materially change the terms for one role, we ask only the people who hold that role to agree again.
23. Roles and verification
We may verify an employer or other business — for example by its website, its email domain or its business details — before its postings, company page or ads go live, and we may remove a role obtained with false information. Verification only means that we checked the information described; it is not a background check, a licence check or a recommendation.
JOBnaru™ staff (managers) and administrators are appointed by us. They must keep all non-public information they can see confidential, use it only for their work for JOBnaru™, and not copy, export or share it. The role gives access, not employment or any other relationship, and we may change or remove it at any time.
24. Developers (API and data)
An API key lets you use the JOBnaru™ API and MCP server under the API terms. Free keys are for non-commercial use; commercial use — in a business’s product, service, app, website, dataset or AI product, or bulk redistribution — needs a separate written license. Name “JOBnaru™” and link to the page you used. Do not use our data to build a competing job board, to contact employers or job seekers in bulk, or to republish listings without linking to them. We may limit or revoke a key that breaks these terms. API terms · What counts as commercial use
25. Advertisers and service providers
Businesses that serve the Korean-American community — for example immigration attorneys, staffing firms, banks and insurance agencies — can hold an advertiser role and buy banner and sponsored placements. The advertising terms in section 10 apply. You confirm that you hold every licence your business requires and that your ads follow the professional advertising rules that apply to you (for example state bar rules for attorneys). An advertiser role does not make you a provider recommended or endorsed by JOBnaru™.
